From our store you will take US HWY 19/74 into the Nantahala Gorge.
You will leave the four lane behind and get on a two lane road that takes
you to Wayah Road. You will turn right onto Wayah. On the left there is
parking lot, restrooms, and the put in for the river rafters. You will
continue on across several bridges, next to the water, and see the
Nantahala River. The Cherokee Indians named this "Nantahala" which
means "Land of the Noon Day Sun". You usually only see the sun around
noon as the gorge walls block it.
This road ends at Old Murphy Highway and you can take 64, another four
lane into the Town of Franklin.
Wayah Road , to me, is the best riding road we have to offer.
